We sent out our first round of special member invites the other day. So excited to see people coming on to the community, posting their great content, videos, photos, blogs. The first great conversations are already starting, practical applications and collaborations are forming - can you tell I am excited about you?? ;-)

Look forward to the official launch of this community on April 18. Can't wait to send it out to our mailing list and connect our other website with this one... fun,… Continue

The Hedonistic Imperative

"The metabolic pathways of pain and malaise evolved because they
served the fitness of our genes in the ancestral environment. They will be
replaced by a different sort of neural architecture -- a motivational
system based on heritable gradients of bliss. States of sublime well-being
are destined to become the genetically pre-programmed norm of mental

Design Inspirations...

It's always stunning to me how many little pieces go into designing an identity, from logos to icons to business cards - have been feeling it lately. Just found this nice resource for inspiration thanks to a lovely designer friend of mine who posted it on facebook:

hey to hi.

matt here, winding up a super stellar day with the wunderkind that is philip horvath. We had a meeting to discuss a project idea i've been kicking around for awhile with the working title "scratching the surface; the conscious dj."

the idea stems from my absolute love of a particular facet of DJ/producer/culture -inspired music. Music has been the biggest strongest force in life, my whole life, in every way imaginable, and being a working dj for past 10 years has exposed me… Continue

two suns ago

two suns ago,

waay before "smart people,"

you and i were standing right about,

you looked different then,

with a kind of preternatural super-smiley monkey face

and bird's teeth,

me with a day glow skeleton of rainbows and grassy "soul patch"

and we were laughing loudly because we got lost in mid-day light,

calling out for one another in the blinding haze,

and coming out through the other side of night,

with new names uttered from the… Continue

*a postCard from my tibet*

there are those who think;

'there must be more',

but there is no magic to save us here,

there's nothing we can eat to protect us,

nothing we can wear that will make us strong

...we keep the fire lit until

we run out of fuel;

there's nothing else to do

...oh, here's a stone to roll,

here's a tea to drink,

here's a god to lean on like a cane

-this code was broken long ago;

realize the mind,

notice all things are connected,

you… Continue

Rheingold was stunning...

LA Opera Rheingold

Went to the opera on Wednesday evening to see the first of the four Wagner operas "Das Rheingold"... Wow... Absolutely amazing use of the dimensionality of the stage, colors, costumes, movement... Was pretty blown away by it. Even the fact that 2 hours and 45 minutes without intermission weren't painful in itself is definitely an accomplishment. Let alone… Continue

Phew... it's up!

Our team has been working hard to get the new c3 site up and running and it's life as of last night - see . Still lots of moving parts, but it's out there with a new face! Very excited about it. Can't wait for the community and membership to go live. Tough to wait until April, but I know it will be there before we blink twice...

Working on adding more resources to the directory. If you have some… Continue

LA Opera Ring Festival

Went to a lovely reception by the LA Opera on Wednesday evening including an "Insider's preview to the Launch of the Ring Festival". Met a lot of interesting people and learned about their projects (there is a 50 piece Hip-Hop orchestra who will be creating a performance - am particularly intrigued by that one). Going to see "The Rheingold", the… Continue
