Dr Lila Moore is an artist film-maker, screen choreographer, networked performance/intermedia practitioner, and theorist. She is currently a Post-doctoral researcher, Advanced Research Associate, at The I-Node of the Planetary Collegium, Plymouth University, UK. She holds a PhD degree from Middlesex University in Dance on Screen which explores choreography for the camera and screen-dance in the contexts of performative and hybrid art forms, with special reference to ritual and myth from a feminine/feminist perspective. She likewise holds an MA in Independent Film and Video from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design London, including a teaching certificate in Art History and a Diploma in Media Studies. She is a UK-certified Holistic Life Coach.
Her interest in the spiritual and metaphysical aspects of cinema and new media has led her to explore the field, and she has presented research papers on film, interactive and mobile screen-based devices, and the spiritual in academic conferences (2009-2014). She has been teaching a course on Spiritual Cinema at the Department of Mysticism and Spirituality at Zefat Academic College (2013-2015).
Lila Moore explores our perception of the world, our inner and external life, through cinedance (screendance) and intermedia/networked performance. Her work observes the interrelations of the body, psyche, the natural environment and screen-based technology within the framework of technoetics arts.
