Profile Information

About Me:
As a Founder of the c3: Center for Conscious Creativity, I contribute expertise garnered from over 30 years of experience in the arts and entertainment industries working for major studios such as Paramount, Universal Studios, with Placido Domingo and the Los Angeles Opera, and most recently as an independent media and arts Consultant, Writer and Producer of both traditional and emerging content through my own company, Bridge Arts Media, LLC. I thrive on creative collaboration and working with others to bring visions/ideas and projects into form. I hold an MA in Consciousness Studies and am passionate about the evolution of thought, perennial wisdom, future studies, innovation and creative process, subtle energy research, neuroesthetics/science and the power of media and the arts to transform -- as well as inform -- evolutionary shifts in individuals and society. Am a Board Delegate of the Producers Guild of America New Media Council, the ATAS: Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and am a Creative Advisor to Vortex Immersive Media, Inc. I also maintain membership in the WFSF: World Future Studies Federation and am an Advisory Board Member to the House of the Children whose mission is to empower global cultures by providing sustainable water, sanitation, health and education programs that raise the quality of life of children and adults in context to cultural and environmental needs www.houseofthechildren.org. As a Sr.Fellow with the Society of New Communications Research the c3 was awarded a Commendation of Merit for co-creation and collaboration in the study of emerging future trends in media technologies, and emerging art forms and their potential to effect change in culture and society. www.sncr.org. Additionally, in 2010 the c3 was invited to create and chair a global arts and media node for the Millennium Project. The Node's goal is to; aggregate and contribute research to, and advocate information and solutions found in the "State of the Future" Report to artists and content creators in an effort to become aware of and offer creative solutions to the 15 global challenges covered in the report.

Together with c3 Co-Founder, Philip Horvath, and SCWC Founder, Michael Steven Gregory, we launched our first major c3 event in 2005 in Los Angeles by co-producing a conference we called NEW STORY PARADIGM AND THE FUTURE OF CONTENT. This conference addressed consciousness, transformative arts and media, emergent technologies, new media platforms, and the art and craft of storytelling and writing.

Since then, we have produced several events such as; music concerts, art exhibits, lectures, workshops, screenings, and talks with leading-edge artists, thinkers and experts in a variety of diverse fields. We sponsor c3: VisionLAB -- the arts and media R&D think-tank dedicated to researching future trends in the arts, media and creativity and to serving as Chair of the Global Arts and Media Node for the Millennium Project. In June 2010 we produced the first STATE OF THE ARTS symposium as an official participant in the LA Opera Citywide Ring Festival with IMERSA, and the Creative Visions Foundation. The STATE OF THE ARTS is now an annual event and in 2011 we collaborated with the Producers Guild of America New Media Council to produce STATE OF THE ARTS: PRODUCING CHANGE. In 2012 we collaborated with the ELECTRONIC MUSIC ALLIANCE & produced STATE OF THE ARTS: AMPLIFY and in 2013 we partnered with IMERSA and presented STATE OF THE ARTS: The Future of Fulldome.

We created the c3: CreateLAB, an experimental dome theatre space sponsored by VORTEX IMMERSIVE MEDIA, and c3: MindLAB, an exploratory research space, headed by Dr. Dana Klinesan.

Conscious Creativity means...
To me, conscious creativity is produced from an alignment originating within. From a inner "vertical" perspective towards a "horizontal" external expression. Inner activation/outer manifestation. Deep listening. Connecting all the dots. Living your "blueprint." Whole system beingness. Operating from what some may call "Soul".... It means knowing why you do something as often as you can but also being okay with ambiguity as long as you are aware of the process. Essence, theme -- words that feel aligned with bringing some cognitive order to this knowingness. Feeling into it. Simply that. Full on actualization. Accepting that it all gets you where you need to g(r)o(w)...in gratitude. Showing up fully with imagination and genius ignited.... to actualize in the world.

"There is only one thing one has to have: either a soul that is cheerful by nature, or a soul made cheerful by work, love, art, and knowledge." ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
My vision of the future:
The c3: Center for Conscious Creativity based in a multi-purpose creative center/studio for use by the community modeled and prototyped in Los Angeles then also created in other places around the world.

True understanding at a global level of the "Oneness." Figure-8-ing relating... Unity of diversity absolutely acceptable and encouraged. Transcending dualism.

Everyone embracing and encouraging creative expression with a solid understanding of its impact.

Music. Dancing. Drumming. Joyful creative expression in supportive communities. Our wonderful youth and children feeling hope and excitement about taking their unique place in creating a more evolved world.

Biomimicry embraced. Sustainability the norm. Nurturing individual genius. Innovation, creativity and imagination ignited fully!
I am really good at:
Connecting people. Seeing a bigger picture. Visioning. Synergizing. Bringing diverse elements together. Transmedia strategy design. Appreciating beauty...

Bringing projects into manifestation. Event coordination. Media development. Writing. Branding. Creative problem-solving...

Trends forecasting... Probability assumption.

Helping individuals discover and manifest their visions...
I could use help with:
Keeping up with correspondence/phone calls and new technologies!

Core people coming aboard this collective to take on roles. Finding/creating an amazing SPACE to grow into -- realizing the vision fully.
Tools I use...
Cultivating joy. Practicing gratitude. Service. Love. Creativity. Mindfulness and the "Nature of the Soul" meditation techniques and practice, "Life on the Drawing Board" system design, energy work, and have found myself drawn to the powerful and historically rich practice of Freemasonry...

Apple tech. Final Draft. A Canon D5. Norman Strobe Lighting System, Photoshop.... Compass and square. A hammer now and then. Smiles...
I am looking for (services):
More time....

Distribution expertise for a growing portfolio line of content, graphic artists, and great music.

Investors for businesses and projects.
I am offering (services):
Professionally, I offer consulting, writing and producing expertise in transmedia content through Bridge Arts Media, LLC. I created a unique arts and music label called THE ART OF SOUND with No'a Winter Lazerus and Hall Ramirez and have several media properties (TV, Film, Books, Print, Visual Music, Web Content) available for distribution and/or funding. I also maintain a studio and office in the Brewery Artist Colony and provide space for shoots and portrait photography.

On an interpersonal level, I teach meditation and offer one on one sessions and workshops in life passion manifestation using a system I designed called "Life on the Drawing Board."

"Banish the word 'struggle' from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we have been waiting for."

Dear Kate, Thank you for your warm welcome. I just listened to the conference recording of Transformative Media's Next Evolution Panel at IONS and I was moved by your presentation. I related to your article Visions from the Techno-Mystic Edge in a paper that I presented on spiritual cinema in an academic conference in 2009. I hold a PhD in film, choreography and mixed media and part of my research included making and analyzing transformative film.  I was invited to speak in another academic conference in the spring and I am also very interested in the next IONS conference on cinema.  It could be great to continue this conversation with you. May I e-mail you some info?

Hi Kate! So glad to be part of this community!!! We're new to the transmedia world - well - sort of. We were doing transmedia at the agency for which I worked (once upon a time it was called USWeb/CKS). It's good to have a name to go with the process of "holistic" storytelling, and fabulous to be in a community where intentional transformation seems to be our collective focus.

Kindest regards,

Thanks, Kate, what a wonderful invention. And I can't believe you called it c3. The name had come up for many years in our theater troupe...collective conscious creativity. For we created many of our pieces as a collective. So, hurray, I feel right at home. Joanne W. tells me you are wonderful, so, again, thanks. Lucinda
